Type A: These have a male grooved adapter and a female pipe thread (FPT) end. They are used to connect to a female Camlock coupling or directly to a piece of equipment with a female threaded fitting.
Type B: These feature a female Camlock end and a male National Pipe Thread (BSPT, BSP, NPT) end. They are used to connect to a male Camlock adapter or a piece of equipment with a male threaded fitting.
Type C: Equipped with a female Camlock on one end and a hose tail on the other, Type C couplings are used to connect to a male Camlock adapter and attach to a hose.
Type D: Female Camlock End + Female Thread (It is usually used with Type A, E, F, and DP adaptors of the same size.
These have a female Camlock connector and a female National Pipe Thread (BSP, BSPT, NPT) end. They are designed to connect to a male Camlock adapter or directly to a piece of equipment with a male threaded fitting.

Dust Cap (Type DC): A Dust Cap is used to cover and protect the female end of the Camlock coupling when it is not in use, preventing dirt, debris, and insects from entering the system.
Dust Plug (Type DP): Similarly, a Dust Plug is used to protect the male end of the Camlock coupling when it's not connected, keeping the inside of the coupling clean and free from contaminants.

The design of Camlock couplings allows for quick and secure connections without the need for tools, gaskets, or tightening. To make a connection, one simply needs to insert the adapter into the coupler and close the cam or lever arms.
